Joint conference of the National Assembly and IRE: Sustainable and interconnected cities in Europe

In the organization of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the Institute of European Regions (IRE), under the auspices of the President of the National Assembly Nedeljko Čubrilović, on Wednesday, March 29, in Banja Luka will be held VI Conference IRE on mobility: Banja Luka - HOW TO GET THE STATUS OF ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE CITY ; Sustainable and interconnected cities in Europe.

The conference will be held in the presence of 20 foreign experts from several European countries and ten members of IRE's team, as well as representatives of local communities in the Republic of Srpska.

It is planned that at the very beginning  for the participants to be addressed by the president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović, President of the Institute of the Regions of Europe and  Special Adviser for the European Commission on Western Balkan and Ukraine Franz Schausberger, the Mayor of Banja Luka Igor Radojičič, government members and representatives of local communities in the Republic of Srpska.

At the conference, among other things, the discussion will be about plans for the construction and development of the highest environmental standards of European cities in the region and the experience of European cities in that area.

Through two panels on which the construction of environmentally sustainable and smart cities will be discussed, as well as the roadmap for the European area through traffic linking of urban regions, with the participation of IRE experts, representatives of local communities of the Republic of Srpska will also discuss.

Most Europeans live in urban areas where environmental problems have become major challenges for cities. It is a great obligation for one town to became environmentally that requires continuous involvement of citizens in the process.

This conference will provide an analysis of the current situation in European cities and will focus on policy and strategy for the cities that are on the beginning of this process.

With the help of the experiences of EU countries for local communities in the Republic of Srpska experiences will presented on how to reach life standards that would respect every citizen and preserve human life of people in urban areas.
