President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska talked today with the Deputy OHR High Representative and the Head of the OHR Office in Banja Luka Marianne Berecz.

President Čubrilović stressed the fact that the Republic of Srpska formed all organs and institutions in harmony with the law and the last year’s elections, and in relation to this once again demonstrated its full democratic capacity, stability and sustainability.

He added that for no reason should the formation of BiH common organs and institutions be obstructed, first of all the Council of Ministers, which in current convocation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH does not have the democratic legitimacy to work, make decisions and propose laws.

Talking about announced initiative for eventual reconsideration of the name of the Republic of Srpska, president Čubrilović said that in no way the existence of the Republic of Srpska could be questioned because it is the part of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska.

President Čubrilović pointed out that the announcement for initiating the initiative for changing the name of the Republic of Srpska is pointless and cannot be released and that in its essential intention is a demagogic preoccupation of the people in BiH from their real problems, which are related to emigrants, radical movements and people going to foreign battlefields.

President Čubrilović and Ambassador Berecz also talked about other actual themes in the Republic of Srpska and BiH.
