The President of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska, Nedeljko Čubrilović, opened a two-day international conference "Traffic safety in the local community" at the Administrative Center of the Government of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska and the Agency for Safety of Transport.
President Čubrilović said that he had the honor to open this very important conference, which brought together a large number of participants with numerous reports in the field of traffic safety.
"This is a great contribution to the work of all our institutions, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Republic of Srpska, the Agency for Traffic Safety and other institutions and bodies in charge of traffic and traffic safety," Čubrilović told reporters after the opening of the conference.

The National Assembly Speaker said that the number of people killed in traffic accidents on roads in Srpska in the first nine months of this year decreased by 18% compared to the same period last year.

Čubrilović emphasized that, in addition to reducing the number of dead people, the impact on the school youth and the most sensitive traffic participants, such as pedestrians and bikers, was extremely significant.
"In order to further improve traffic safety, it is necessary to solve the problem of" black spots. "We must be aware that BiH in the former Yugoslavia was the most undeveloped republic, without speaking on European scale," said Čubrilović.

The Minister of Transport and Communications Neđo Trninić pointed out that the Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Srpska is most deserving to reduce the number of traffic accidents on the roads in Srpska.
"Republika Srpska has more than 4,000 kilometers of regional and main roads and more than 6,000 local roads. The situation is not ideal, but we are constantly working on improving infrastructure and eliminating the so-called black spots," Trninić said.
Director of the Agency for Traffic Safety, Milija Radovic, noted that the Republic of Srpska was among the first in the region to apply the European Road Safety Directive and adopted the relevant regulations, while "Roads of Srpska" last year reviewed 200 kilometers of the most dangerous stocks and identified dangerous places.
