29th Special Session: Prime Minister's Resignation Adopted, Triggering Resignation of the Entire Government

The National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska today, during its 29th Special Session, adopted the resignation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Savo Minić, which consequently entails the resignation of the entire Government.

This decision took effect on the day it was adopted. The resignation of the Prime Minister and the Government was adopted without debate.

Addressing the deputies to explain his resignation, Minić stated that this act does not change the Government's course, and that the priority remains strengthening the capacity of the Republic of Srpska to defend its competencies as provided by the Dayton Peace Agreement.

"It is unacceptable for the Government's positive momentum to be interrupted by artificial crises. Therefore, we have made a decision that will further strengthen the Republic of Srpska, making it more resilient to any form of pressure. I want to clearly tell the people of Srpska that because of all this, and in accordance with the Constitution, I am submitting my resignation from the position of Prime Minister," Minić said.

He noted that the past year was filled with difficult challenges for the Republic of Srpska, calling it one of the toughest years since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

"We faced political pressures aimed at diminishing the essence of the Republic of Srpska's statehood. However, Srpska emerged more stable and stronger, demonstrating unity. In impossible circumstances, we remained intact, and the only legal framework for BiH is the Dayton Constitution," Minić emphasized.

He added that challenging times are expected to continue into this year, but the Republic of Srpska remains focused on the future, seeking development, stability, and investment.

"There will be no reduction in income in Srpska. I remind you that we have adopted a series of regulations that result in higher salaries, as well as security for pensioners, veterans, and young people. We have also launched strategic projects, and we will continue on this path," said Minić.
