President Stevandić Congratulates the Leadership and Citizens of the Republic of Serbia on Statehood Day

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Nenad Stevandić, extended his congratulations to the state leadership and citizens of the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of Sretenje – Statehood Day.

"On behalf of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and my own behalf, I send sincere and heartfelt congratulations to you, the state leadership, and all citizens of the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of Sretenje - Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia and the Day of the Republic of Srpska, which we are once again celebrating together as a national All-Serbian holiday," stated President Stevandić in his message to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, and Prime Minister Đuro Macut.

He emphasized that the celebration of Statehood Day—commemorating two significant events in Serbian history that took place on February 15th (Sretenje): the First Serbian Uprising of 1804 in Orašac and the adoption of the first democratic Constitution of Serbia in Kragujevac in 1835—represents the foundation of the modern Serbian state and one of the most advanced constitutions in Europe at the time. He noted it is a unique opportunity to highlight the importance of unity, togetherness, and harmony among the Serbian people.

"We rejoice in the industrial, economic, and institutional strengthening of the state of Serbia! Your successes are ours as well. We express our sincere gratitude to the Republic of Serbia, its leadership, and its citizens for their brotherly and institutional assistance to the Republic of Srpska and the entire Serbian people in the diaspora, the region, and the world, in protecting the interests and preserving the identity of the Serbian people—our language, script, culture, and spirituality," Stevandić said.

He further pointed out his confidence that the cooperation between Serbia and the Republic of Srpska will become even firmer and more successful, and that the brotherly ties, trust, and support connecting them will be even stronger and more visible for the benefit and joy of all citizens.

"I wish for you to continue with the policy of peace, stability, development, and economic prosperity of the Republic of Serbia. Happy Statehood Day to you!" concluded President Stevandić.
