The first session of the Cooperation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in Belgrade

The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will hold its first session on Friday, February 28, 2020 in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. (National Assembly House, Nikola Pasic Square 13)

            The first session of the Commission will be opened by the Speakers of the two Parliaments, Maja Gojkovic and Nedeljko Čubrilović, at 12 noon.

            After the keynote address by the President, all members of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska will attend the plenary session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

            The continuation of the work of the Commission, chaired by Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Milan Petković and Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Veroljub Arsić, is planned at 2.40 pm (National Assembly House, 13 Nikola Pasić Square, Room 1)

            The Commission will work on topics. The first topic is "Relations between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of  Srpska - Interparliamentary Cooperation and the Perspective of Regional Stability and Security". Rapporteurs in front of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska are Dušica Šolaja, Chairman of the Legislative Committee and Member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and Dragan Čavić, Chairman of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration, and in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Neđo Jovanović, Member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and Legislation Of the Committee on Justice, Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

The second theme of the first session of the Commission is "Parliamentary support for the development of economic and trade cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Srpska in key areas, with an emphasis on energy and infrastructure cooperation". The rapporteurs on the subject in front of the Republic of Srpska National Assembly are Maksim Skoko, chairman of the Committee on Economy and member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and Dragan Čavić, chairman of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration. The rapporteurs in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia are: Vladimir Marinković, Vice-President of the Serbian Parliament, Snežana B. Petrović, President of the Committee on Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy, and Katarina Rakić from the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications.

            Discussion on the third topic should start at 4.10 pm, and members of the Commission will discuss "Collaboration on the Protection of Historic Remembrance through the Joint Commemoration of Anniversaries, Remembrance of Victims and Construction and Maintenance of Memorials." The rapporteurs on the subject in front of the Republic of Srpska National Assembly are Gordana Tešanović, chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Information and member of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Policy, and Dušica Šolaja, chairman of the Legislative Committee and member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs. The rapporteurs in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia are Mirko Krlic, chairman of the Committee on Culture and Information and Miodrag Linta, chairman of the Committee on Diaspora and Serbs in the region.

            The closing words of the Co-Chairs of the Commission are planned for 16.50, which will end the first session of the Cooperation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

             The first session of the Commission is held at the initiative of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Maja Gojković, on the basis of the Memorandum on the formation of the Cooperation Commission signed by the two Speakers of Parliament on September 26, 2018.

            At the same time, a meeting of the Secretaries-General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will be held on the basis of the Protocol between the expert services of the two Parliaments, with the aim of establishing concrete cooperation through professional development of employees and exchange of personnel.
