OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov visiting Council of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska
President of the Council for National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska, Maja Kremenovic, met today in the Parliament premises with the OCSE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov on the position and rights of minorities in The Republic of Srpska.
At the meeting, attended by the Head of the OSCE Office in Banja Luka Dimitri Iordanidi, the President of the Association of National Minorities of The Republic of Srpska Franjo Rover, and Aleksandra Delsaso Lepir, Council of Peoples of The Republic of Srpska. The conversation was about the improvement of the institutional and legal framework for the protection of rights and cultural identity of the members of national minorities in The Republic of Srpska.
Kremenovic got acquainted Abdrakhmanov with the organization, membership, and most important activities of the Council when it is about the improvement of the position of the members of national minorities, and about cross-border cooperation, education, and preservation of language and tradition.
“The aim of the Council, as an advisory body, is to round legal and institutional activity with the aim of promotion and protection of the rights of national minorities in The Republic of Srpska” Kremenovic pointed out. She also stated that The Republic of Srpska gives full institutional support to national minorities issues.
