The Joint Statement of the members of the management of the Parliamentary Forum was adopted. It calls for the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet the remaining conditions listed in the recommendations of the European Commission in May 2019 and October 2022, to get the negotiation status, and to start organizing the first international conference.
The competent institutions of the executive level in BiH are called for more intensive activities related to the adoption of the BiH Reform Plan Document to be included in the Growth Plan for Western Balkan.
The Joint Statement points out the need to acquaint the legislative institutions in BiH with the content of the Draft Integration Program, but also the necessity of adopting this document as soon as possible, emphasizing its importance when it comes to the process of adopting the EU acquis.
The members of the leadership of the Parliamentary Forum encourage the responsible bodies of the executive power at all levels to regularly inform and report the parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and their competent bodies on both realized and planned activities in the field of European integration and specifically the course of negotiations between BiH and the EU.
They call for the implementation of the necessary legal, regulatory and technological reforms in order to bring the financial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina into line with SEPA standards, ensuring seamless integration into the European electronic payment system.
They indicate the need for BiH to intensify activities aimed at improving regional cooperation, especially by implementing the necessary reforms and harmonizing policies with EU standards, in order to fully use the advantages of the Berlin process.
They call for the promotion of institutional coordination through the cooperation mechanism of the parliaments in BiH in matters related to the EU integration process, as well as all its components, including regular conferences of the leadership of the parliaments, and the cooperation of sector commissions.
They emphasize the importance of regularly holding meetings of the Parliamentary Forum for European Integration in the future, at least twice a year, recognizing the need to strengthen the role of parliaments through continuous involvement and monitoring of the fulfillment of EU membership requirements.
"They encourage all initiatives, proposals and solutions aimed at improving communication, sharing, exchange and joint use of information between parliaments in BiH and their bodies in European affairs, among other things, through a common web platform that would reflect the continuity of work, activities and work results of all components of the parliamentary coordination mechanism in Bosnia and Herzegovina", it is stated at the end of the Joint Statement.
