The President of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović congratulated the citizens of the Republic of Srpska May 9th, the Day of the victory over fascism, remembering that Serbian people already during the demonstrations on March 27th, 1941, among the first one in Europe, showed their antifascist orientation.

“We are proud of the heroic participation in the antifascist struggle of the Serb people and at the same time, we express sorrow and pity for all the killed and we give special tribute to those who ended their lives in the fascist camps of Jasenovac, Stara Gradiška, Jadovno, Pag and in other prisons in the territory of the Independent State of Croatia, just because they were Serbs, Jews, Roma or anti-fascists "emphasized Nedeljko Čubrilović, President of the National Assembly.

In this way, as well as by constantly recalling all the victims of fascism, we will oppose marked tendencies for the revision of historical facts. We are proud that finally the joint efforts of Republic of Srpska and Serbia will realize a project to build a memorial complex in Donja Gradina. This complex will be a place of our gathering and giving honor to the victims, a place of eternal remorse and sadness, but also a place of pride and immense gratitude to all those who have given their lives on behalf of our freedom and freedom of humanity, "President Čubrilović concluded.
