President Čubrilović spoke with representatives of the Alliance and the Council of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović spoke today with President of the Alliance of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska Franjo Rover, President of the Parliamentary Working Body Council of National Minorities Maja Kremenovic and Vice-President of the Council of Peoples of the Republic of Srpska Aleksandra Delšašo Lepir.

The representatives of the Alliance expressed satisfaction with the attitude of Republic of Srpska towards national minorities, which, they said, is significantly better than the status of national minorities in the Federation of BiH.

Representatives of the Alliance of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska stressed that it is very important that the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, at its last session, adopted the Strategy for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of National Minorities for the period from 2020 to 2024, emphasizing that it is the first document of strategic importance for the position of national minorities adopted in BiH.

They expressed satisfaction that the Strategy was adopted without modification, which clearly stated the goals, obligations and tasks of public authorities and other actors important for the exercise of the rights of national minorities, with the aim of further promoting and protecting the individual and collective human rights of persons belonging to national minorities in the Republic of Srpska.

President Čubrilović emphasized that the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, within its competence, will make every effort to further improve the position of minorities in the Republic of Srpska.

At the proposal of the delegation of the Alliance of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska, President of the National Assembly, Nedeljko Čubrilović, accepted that the National Assembly, together with the Council of Peoples, the Council and the Federation of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska, to be the organizer of an international conference on the rights and status of national minorities in Republic of Srpska.
