President Stevandić attended the ceremonial parade on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandić, attended today in East Novo Sarajevo a ceremonial parade on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska, January 9.

The ceremonial parade was also attended by: President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Serbian member and chairman of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković, and ministers in the governments of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, as well as numerous citizens and members of the social and political life of the Republic of Srpska .

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik congratulated everyone present the Day of the Republic of Srpska, emphasizing that the Republic of Srpska is peaceful and is not a threat to anyone.

"This area belongs to the Serbs who organized themselves and formed the Republic of Srpska on January 9, 1992." We are not a threat to anyone, and we are not doing this out of spite. We just want to say that we are here, that we are ready to fight for our freedom," said Dodik.

2,500 members of the MUP and 37 echelons of the civil sector took part in the ceremonial parade.

After the end of the ceremonial parade, in honor of the Republic of Srpska, the 527-meter-long flag of the Republic of Srpska was unfurled in St. Stefan Nemanja Street, in which the participants of the parade and many citizens took part. The flag was also carried by the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Dr Nenad Stevandić, the Prime Minister Radovan Višković, the chairman and Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović.

The Republic of Srpska is celebrating the day of the Republic and 31 year of existence today with a ceremonial parade in East Sarajevo.

The ninth of January is celebrated as the Day of the Republic of Srpska because, on that date in 1992, it was established under the original name of the Republic of Srpska BiH.
