President Stevandic attended the solemn ceremony and the central event marking January 9th, the Day of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandic, attended the celebration and the central event marking January 9th, the Day of the Republic of Srpska, held today on the Krajina Square in Banja Luka.

The Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Zeljka Cvijanovic attended the ceremony, the senator of the Republic of Srpska Aleksandar Vulin, and the ministers in the Government of Srpska and Serbia, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in BiH, Igor Klabuhov, Serbian representatives in common institutions of BiH and numerous citizens.

The defile began with submitting rapport to the president of the Government of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Viskovic with the composition “March of National Heroes” performed by the Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska.

The Flag Platoon of the Honorary Unit was led by Commander Vitomir Petricevic, who, with a salute with an officer's sober, handed over the report to Prime Minister Viskovic.

In honor of the President of the Republic of Srpska, a Flag Platoon was formed, consisting of members of the Honorary Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

2,792 participants took part in the ceremonial parade. The civilian sector consisted of 49 echelons, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Srpska consisted of the Flag Platoon, 14 echelons of units, and eight motorized echelons.

Of the 49 echelons of the civilian sector, 17 were organizations and associations whose members made an immeasurable contribution to the creation and defence of the Republic of Srpska, but also to the defence of the Serbian people from the occupiers in World War II.

After the echelon of the civilian sector, the echelons of units and motorized echelons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Srpska, whose 782 members gave their lives for the Republic of Srpska, .

We are determined to stay and survive, our own, emphasized the envoy of the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska Sinisa Karan.

"I have the honour to greet you on behalf of the President of the Republic of Srpska. He is not with us due to his recovery, but we know that his heart is with us, just as his heart has been with the Republic of Srpska for decades," Karan said.

Senator of the Republic of Srpska Aleksandar Vulin congratulated all Serbs on Republic Day, emphasizing that it is one of the greatest holidays, stating that the Republic of Srpska is a free country, which is why it is often attacked, but he also stated that its leadership will preserve in defending rights and all values.
