President Stevandic met in Moscow with the President of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandic, met today in Moscow with the President of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko. During the meeting, previous agreements and previous visits within the framework of parliamentary cooperation were discussed, with special emphasis on international law, social sciences, economy, and modern technologies. They also discussed the possibilities for improving trade and economic ties between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Srpska.
After the meeting, President Stevandic stated that Srpska's cultural, economic, and political cooperation with Russia is the result of long-standing traditional ties and not temporary alliances, stressing that it will be continued with the desire not to harm anyone.
"Our cooperation with Russia is not directed against other nations. It respects the specificities of Srpska and its environment, European integration and the position of all countries in the United Nations. We saw in previous votes in the General Assembly of the United Nations and after the American elections that the situation in the world will change. I am glad that we presented Srpska as sovereign and independent, which has nothing against other peoples within Bosnia and Herzegovina. It preserves its subjectivity and transfers its independence to some future relationships in the world, which will certainly have more understanding for what we do," said Stevandic.
He stated that he and Matviyenko summarized previous visits and agreements regarding parliamentary cooperation, international law, social sciences, economic relations, modern technologies, and everything else that makes up future cooperation between Russia and Srpska.
