President Stevandic talked with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Dr Nenad Stevandic talked today in Banja Luka with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH H.E. Igor Kalabuhov. The interlocutors exchanged views on the actual political situation in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as on the continuation of the economic cooperation with the Russian Federation.

The friendly relationship between the two countries, based on mutual respect and appreciation. has been stressed at the meeting.

 President Stevandic thanked Ambassador Kalabuhov for the principled position of the Russian Federation when it comes to the implementation and respect of the Dayton Peace Agreement as the basis of peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Stevandic and Ambassador Kalabuhov agreed that, despite numerous pressures, Bosnia and Herzegovina, thanks to the decisions of the Republic of Srpska, did not impose sanctions on the Russian Federation, and that they will continue with the policy of neutrality, which in no way harms bilateral relations with Russia, and which provides benefits for all citizens of the both Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He emphasized that the individual decisions of individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the detriment of the Russian Federation do not represent an official position because they were not reached based on the consensus of the three constituent people, and that they contradict the fundamental principles of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
