The Delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska headed by the President of the National Assembly Dr Nenad Stevandic, talked today in Moscow with the first deputy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Genadievich Titov, about the actual political moment and its impact on the bilateral relations between the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Russian Federation.

“We made a conclusion that no one has the right to impose its decisions, nor to seek dictated decisions. The Republic of Srpska leads its politics which has the consensus with the Russian for the protection of the vital national interest of the Republic of Srpska, which Russia has shown by its voting in the United Nations and by demonstration of its will in the Peace Implementation Council” stated President Stevandic after the meeting.

He repeated that he rejects any insinuations that the Republic of Srpska represents a Russian platform or that he is making some anti-European story and added that Srpska remained faithful to the idea of joining the European Union, which was understood and respected by the Russian side.

President Stevandic looked back at the resolutions of the European Parliament, which are presented as obligatory, pointing out that a story about European values is being generated to justify the introduction of sanctions against Russia.

"Srpska has no obligation to comply with the resolutions, because they are of a changing nature. European politics and its values can change quickly, on the other hand, the values that we cherish, which refer to military and political neutrality, to family values, and to retaining the ability to make our own decisions about our own destiny, without causing any damage neither to Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor to the European Union, nor to any country that currently has deteriorating relations with Russia, are unchangeable," said Stevandić.
