President Stevandić in Austria with representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian diaspora on the possibilities of economic connection and cooperation

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Dr Nenad Stevandić, spoke tonight in the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed mother of God in Salzburg, Austria, with representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian diaspora about the possibilities and ways in which the diaspora can contribute to the economic connection of the Republic Srpska and Austria.

"For our people in the diaspora, it is true that they are the most educated and that they have shown great respect in the communities they live in today because of that. Our people hold high positions in the medical and technical professions, and this is an advantage we have, that we have not taken advantage of so far. "Such influence can help both the diaspora and the motherland, which will thus gain an even greater reputation in the world," said President Stevandić.

He said that thanks to the Serbian Orthodox Church and the diaspora, not only in Austria but throughout the world, today we can proudly say that "the sun never sets for the Serbian people and their culture."

Serbian culture connects our people wherever they live, and our liturgy never stops and can be heard all over the world, in all time zones, and on all continents. Our culture and faith are great and powerful and are not based on any myth, because there are few people who have given the world as many great artists and scientists as the Serbian people have given them," said Stevandić.

He informed the representatives of the diaspora and the SPC about the current political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and said that he was pleased by the fact that the Serbian diaspora supports the brotherly unity of the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia.

Tomorrow, on the second day of his official visit to Austria, the President of the National Assembly will meet with Brigitta Palauf, President of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Salzburg. The meeting will be held in the premises of the Salzburg Provincial Parliament, starting at 10:30 a.m. At 12:00 p.m., President Stevandić will meet with the Institute of the Regions of Europe President Franz Schausberger . An agreement on cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the Institute of European Regions should be reached at the meeting.
