The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Cubrilovic met today in Bijeljina with the President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, Istvan Pastor. The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the improvement in cooperation between the two parliaments.

They said that parliamentary cooperation has been on an enviable level so far, and they expressed a wish to be continued in the new convocation, after the parliamentary elections in BiH.

“Pastor is not only the President of the Parliament of AP Vojvodina but the politics with experience who gave а seal to the Serbian-Hungarian relationship in Serbia and in establishing a relationship between two neighbor countries which can serve as an example to other countries.

Cubrilovic said that the cooperation is not based on the cooperation between two presidents, but it is organized on the institutional and committee level.

He also said that there are a lot of themes that connect the two parliaments, first of all, the relationship of the mother country with the diaspora.

“We are now finalizing one period with the wish to be continued, I hope personally, but institutionally as well, and coming here I express my readiness, goodwill, and openness”, said Pastor.

Pastor said to the media that his friendship with Cubrilovic lasts more than ten years and that their first meetings were related to Budapest, where meetings of the Parliaments of Balkan countries were held.

“During the past four years that friendship grew, the cooperation between two parliaments became various and very rich”, concluded Pastor.
