The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandić,  hosted today the students of the Union of the Faculty of Law from Banja Luka and the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Law in Priština - with a temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica, who visited the National Assembly as part of the joint project "Get to know Serbia, get to know yours". .

President Stevandić introduced the students to a brief history of the National Assembly and its responsibilities.

Mihajlo Stoisavljević, the student vice-dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Pristina with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica, expressed his satisfaction that the project "Get to know Serbia, get to know yours", which was temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, has been restarted.

"I hope that this visit will also show that there are no borders between us." We have traveled hundreds of kilometers, and yet we are among our people and our culture," said Stoisavljević and expressed hope that the students of the Faculty of Law from Banja Luka would soon come to visit them.

Rastko Vučić, president of the Student Union of the Faculty of Law in Banja Luka, said that the project "Get to know Serbia, get to know yourself" is an indicator that the Republic of Srpska and Serbia do not cooperate only at the highest levels of government.

"The fact is that this project brings together students from the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, and students from the Republic Srpska and Kosovska Mitrovica understand each other best on certain issues when it comes to the life of the Serbian people," said Vučić.

In a statement to the media, after meeting with the students, the president of the National Assembly said that, after introducing them to the constitutional acts of the Republic of Srpska, he gave the students copies of those documents so that they could get to know them better in case they one day introduce new constitutive acts in the Republic of Srpska or Serbia.

"It is an honor and a pleasure to host Rastko and Mihajlo, and all these students, and their handshake is a clear indication that we are one nation that rejoices and grieves for the same things," said Stevandić.
