President Stevandić and President Volodin signed the Cooperation Agreement between the State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska in Moscow

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Nenad Stevandić, met today in Moscow with the President of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin, and on this occasion, the presidents signed the Agreement on Cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska.

At the meeting, the excellent cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Srpska was confirmed, and it was emphasized that it is developing thanks to the activities of the presidents of the Republic of Srpska and the Russian Federation. Both Speakers of the Parliaments emphasized the need for MPs to legally implement Vladimir Putin and Milorad Dodik's decisions, which is what citizens expect from them.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the additional development of relations between the Republic of Srpska and the Russian Federation is something that both parliaments support, and that today's signing of the Agreement raises the cooperation between the parliaments to a new level.

President Volodin emphasized that all deputies in the State Duma support the development of cooperation.

"Everyone believes that it is right to look for new formats of interaction to be more efficient, bring their positions closer, and, most importantly, work on the final result, developing relations in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Srpska and the Russian Federation," said Volodin.

President Stevandić also expressed his satisfaction that the cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska is developing, and he hoped that cooperation will further strengthen thanks to the signing of the Agreement.

During the meeting, Volodin said that the State Duma, together with the Federation Council, will adopt a joint appeal to the parliaments of the world and international parliamentary organizations regarding the 25th anniversary of the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO countries.

The meeting concluded that both sides will remain committed to the right to self-determination following the United Nations Charter, according to which each nation has the right to determine its own sovereign status and international political status without external pressure or influence.

After the two presidents’ meeting, President Stevandić is scheduled to address the State Duma Session.
