President Stevandić met with the Mayor of the municipality of Foča

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Dr Nenad Stevandić met today in Foča with the mayor of the municipality Milan Vukadinovic. The interlocutors talked about the challenges this municipality is facing and about the potential in the field of higher education.

The mayor of the municipality met President Stevandić with the activities of the local Assembly, especially pointing at the Resolution that supports the institutions of the Republic of Srpska in the fight for the vital interests established by the Dayton Peace Agreement.

After the meeting, President Stevandicć stated that road infrastructure is the priority not only for the municipality of Foča but also for the whole region.

“I am glad to see the great potentiality of the municipality of Foča which is a rival to other big university centres. Meanwhile, it is a fact that road communication is of vital importance for this municipality and for the Republic of Srpska. It is a great problem for development, especially concerning the great number of foreign students who study here,” stated Stevandić.

He added that resolving the problem of road communication towards Šćepan Polje, Sarajevo, and Trebinje will be included in future economic projections of the Republic of Srpska.

“Road infrastructure has to become a national priority in order to improve touristic and university capacities and in order to keep people in Foča.
