President Stevandic attended marking the Day of Victory over Fascism in Banja Luka

The President of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandic, participated today in Banja Luka in the "Immortal Regiment" march on the occasion of marking May 9 - the Day of Victory over Fascism.

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, the Minister of Labor and Veterans and Disability Protection Danijel Egic and other ministers in the Government of the Srpska, the Ambassador of Russia to BiH Igor Kalabuhov, representatives of the City of Banjaluka, the Third Infantry /Republic of Srpska/ Armed Regiment also participated in the "Immortal Regiment" march, organizations resulting from the Patriotic War and the National Liberation War, and numerous citizens.

Wreaths and flowers were laid at the Monument to the Victims of Fascism on the Square of Fallen Fighters.

President Stevandic told the journalists that the official policy of Republic of Srpska is anti-fascist and that it has every right to celebrate anti-Nazi and anti-fascist dates in these areas.

The Day of Victory over Fascism is celebrated on May 9, in memory of that date in 1945 when the unconditional capitulation of Nazi Germany came into force, ending the Second World War in Europe.
