The delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, headed by the President of the National Assembly Dr. Nenad Stevandić, spoke today in Moscow with the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich about the relations between the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Russia.

After the meeting, the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska attended the plenary session of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Before the beginning of the session, President Volodin greeted the delegation of the Republic of Srpska, which was greeted with applause.

President Stevandić stated that at the meeting with Volodin, they discussed the cooperation and projects so far and that it was established that there are no disputed issues between the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Russian Federation.

"The Republic of Srpska has had excellent relations with Russia for many years, and we have presented our positions related to the establishment of peace and the cessation of all hostilities. We hope that this will happen in the coming period," said Stevandic.

He emphasized that the Republic of Srpska remains neutral and will not join the anti-Russian hysteria and added that he condemns any attempt to present the Republic of Srpska as a Russian platform in Europe, since the Russian Federation has never asked for such a thing either.

"We hope that our stance on neutrality will receive its verification in the future." "Smaller states like ours do not have the privilege of interfering in conflicts," adds Stevandić.

President Stevandić added that the Republic of Srpska received unofficial congratulations because of its position and expressed the hope that they will one day be official.

After the meeting in the State Duma, President Stevandić laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Hero, paying tribute to all the victims of fascism.

In addition to President Stevandić, the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska consists of: MPs Igor Žunić, Darko Banjac, Dragomir Vasić, and Secretary General of the National Assembly Boran Bosančić.

The delegation continues its official visit to Moscow today with a visit to the Moscow State Institute for International Relations and a meeting with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Gennadievich Titov.
