The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Nenad Stevandic, congratulated the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, the Prime Ministers, Savo Minic and Djuro Macut, as well as to all citizens.
Stevandic emphasized that now more than ever, the Serbian people need unity in defending their homeland, its institutions, and the freedom and peace they have earned with their blood.
"Our ancestors have proven throughout history that there are no warriors like Serbs and that there is no greater sacredness than the homeland. It is up to us to never forget this, to remain ready to defend our own, while at the same time striving to disarm our enemies with wisdom, intelligence, and patience. Our culture, language, script, tradition, and the Holy Serbian Orthodox Church do not know state borders, but at the same time they are not a threat to the national interests of other peoples. We are not conquerors, but soldiers on our own doorstep, draped in the tricolor that has been worn by victors for centuries, always on the right side of history," Stevandic stressed.
Stevandic stressed that the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and National Flag represents a vow to Thessaloniki, but also to all Serbian warriors throughout history, who taught us that without a state there is no freedom, and that there is no freedom without a strong army.
"That is precisely why we are looking forward to seeing what the Serbian Army has at its disposal at the Power of Unity parade in Belgrade on September 20th, confident that modern weapons will serve to deter all those who would think of threatening Serbia and the Serbian people again. Long live Serbia! Long live the Republic of Srpska!", said Stevandic.
