Presidency
According to the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the President and Vice-Presidents of the National Assembly constitute the Presidency of the National Assembly. The Secretary-General also attends the sessions of the Presidency.
The sessions of the Presidency are held in the building of the National Assembly, in justified cases, they may be held outside of it, as well as by telephone.
Competencies of the Presidency of the National Assembly:
- Discusses issues related to the work of the National Assembly;
- Initiates the placement of certain issues within the National Assembly's competence on the agenda of the National Assembly session;
- Coordinates the work of the working bodies of the National Assembly;
- Takes care of the cooperation of the National Assembly with the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the Council of Peoples, parliamentary cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, and cooperation with other bodies and organizations in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- Gives consent to the Rulebook on the work, systematization, and organization of the National Assembly Service;
- Monitors the implementation of the National Assembly's conclusions;
- Ensures timely responses to parliamentary questions;
- Performs other duties determined by the Rules of Procedure.
