The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Nenad Stevandić, attended the solemn parade today in Banja Luka held in honor of January 9 – Republic Day. The parade featured more than 2,700 participants, including members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of the Republic of Srpska, as well as representatives from the public and civil sectors.
The parade was attended by Savo Minić, Prime Minister; Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, President of the SNSD, Ana Trišić Babić, Acting President of the Republic of Srpska, and ministers from the governments of both the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.
Other attendees included members of the diplomatic corps, former Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich, Serb representatives in joint BiH institutions, and other prominent figures from the public, social, and political life of Srpska, Serbia, and the region, alongside numerous citizens.
The solemn parade, held under the slogan "The Hearth Shall Live" (Živjeće ognjište), included: members of the Student Union of the Republic of Srpska and the Veterans' Organization of the Republic of Srpska, members of the Association of Guardsmen of the 1st Guards Motorized Brigade of the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Srpska.
Veterans and Specialized Organizations: The echelons featured the Association of Disabled War Veterans of the Republic of Srpska (with branches from Laktaši, Derventa, and Banja Luka), the Veterans' Organization of the Special Police Brigade of the MUP, the Association of the 65th Protection Motorized Regiment, the Organization of Military Elders, and former members of the 2nd Military Police Battalion of the 2nd Krajina Corps, also participating were the Association of Prison Camp Inmates of the Republic of Srpska, the Union of Associations of Fighters of the National Liberation War (SUBNOR), the Civil Protection Administration and the Banja Luka Correctional Facility, employees of the Auto-Moto Association, Pošte Srpske (Postal Service), Airports of the Republic of Srpska, Highways of the Republic of Srpska, and Srpska Forests. Representatives of the Hunting Association and activists from the Red Cross of the Republic of Srpska.
