The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Nenad Stevandić, met today in Banja Luka with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Gabriele Derighetti. They discussed the current political situation in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the process of European integration.
President Stevandić briefed the Ambassador on the decision-making structure in the Republic of Srpska, emphasizing that its organization enables efficient decision-making and facilitates development and investment placement.
He stressed that the Republic of Srpska is not a factor of blockade but rather demands respect for its constitutional and Dayton position. He further noted that decisions concerning the Republic of Srpska and BiH cannot be made without its consent.
Regarding European integration, Stevandić pointed out that the security and stability of the European Union are directly linked to the integration of the Western Balkans, and that EU membership represents a guarantee of peace and economic development for the entire region.
