President Stevandić met with the President of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandić, talked today in Moscow with the President of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko, on the current political situation in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the meeting, Stevandić emphasized that the guarantors of the Dayton Peace Agreement should protect those exposed to persecution, indicating that this is being done by violating that agreement by false high representative Christian Smidth and the torture endured by many politicians in the Republic of Srpska for freely expressing their opinion.
It was highlighted that guarantors of the Dayton peace agreement would not permit the rewriting of the Dayton Constitution or the humiliation of any peoples or entities.
Stevandic stressed that the common attitude is that future relations should be based on parliamentary cooperation but also on international connections and meetings that would affirm the Republic of Srpska as an equal entity, which has the right to make decisions independently and where entities' and peoples' decisions would be obligatory when bringing constitutional or other structure changing acts in BiH.
“The guarantors of the Dayton peace agreement firmly stand behind reached constitutional capacities of the Republic of Srpska and our rights to elect our representatives and to bring decisions based on our interests, and not on the orders from any side,” said Stevandić.
The delegation of the Republic of Srpska will attend the football game between Russia and Serbia tomorrow.
The delegation of the Republic of Srpska, staying in several days visit to Russia, headed by President Stevandić, has been consisted of MPs Igor Žunić, Darko Banjac, Srdjan Todorović, and Aleksandar Trninić.
