President Stevandic said that Bratunac does not permit Serbian victims to be humiliated and degraded

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska attended today in the municipality of Bratunac at Central Monument, the commemoration of marking 31 years since the suffering of the Serbs in the region f Podrinje and Birc, which has been held under the slogan “31 years, crime without the sentence”, in the organisation of the Government of the Republic of Srpska “.

 At that occasion, addressing the present, he said that the Republic of Srpska will never allow its victims to be less appreciable and that Serian self-respect is a pledge for the future of the Republic of Srpska.

He highlighted that Bratunac is a sacred place that does not permit for Serbian victims to be humiliated or forgotten.

“We did not separate tears, but they have forbidden our tears to be equal” said Stevandic who highlighted that Serbian people never missed the chance to demonstrate respect towards other side victims but the fourth decade consistently deals with the torture that Serbian victims are not equally important.

He also stressed that today’s prayer gathering in Bratunac shows that Serbian victims can be respected, and we can keep their memory in peace and prayer.

“There is no future if we consider our victims less important, because then our country is less important. They obligate us never to relent and to save humanness towards others, but to love ours the most” stressed Stevandic and added that Serbs did not allow self-denial, but they have chosen self-respect without offending other’s victims.

“Here in Brataunac are born children who will learn about this. A few years ago, triplets were born in Bratunac, thanks to God’s mercy. Bratunac is a lesson for all of us”, said Stevandic.

In Bratuanc we commemorate 31 years after the suffering of 3 267 Serbs in the region of Podrinje and Birc, and at this occasion, we commemorate all Serb victims in the region of Podrinje and Birc, and it is being organised on the occasion of 31 years from the great suffering of Serbs on St Peter’s Day in 1992 in places around Srebrenica and Bratunac, when 69 soldiers and civils were killed and 22 imprisoned and no one has survived.
